The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is responsible for the assessment, development, implantation and oversight of positive behavior support plans for adults with intellectual disabilities living in community based homes and attending day programs.
The BCBA is to promote the highest quality of life in accordance with Options Unlimited and the CT Department of Developmental Services regulations and best practices.
The agency provides services for 31 individuals at this time with active plans for expanding our services.
The regular work schedule is Monday – Friday; however, being highly flexible with work schedule is required. May require occasional evening or weekend hours as needed.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct functional behavior assessments and other clinically appropriate assessments
- Develop, implement, and regularly review individuals behavior support plans
- Ensure behavior interventions are person-centered, trauma-informed, and the least restrictive
- Provide on-site coaching, modeling, and feedback to all staff members
- Develop and deliver training on behavior support strategies, data collection, crisis intervention and intervention
- Maintenance of accurate, timely and compliant records and documentation
- Work collaboratively with staff members, families, guardians, DDS case management, and external providers
- Participation in required licensing reviews, interdisciplinary team meetings, staff meetings, and quality assurance activities
- Ability to work in residential settings and respond to behavioral situations as needed, including PMT interventions
- Ability to operate agency vehicles
- Assistance with on-call coverage for the agency
Required Qualifications Include:
- Eligibility for or current licensure as a Behavior Analyst in the State of Connecticut
- Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field
- Experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of positive behavior supports and community-based service delivery
- Ability to travel between multiple group home locations
Preferred Qualifications Include:
- Familiarity with Connecticut DDS policies and Individual Planning processes
- Experience training and coaching direct support staff
- Strong data analysis and clinical writing skills
