What you will doPratt & Whitney Military Engines is seeking an Industrial Cost Lead for F135 Engine Core Upgrade (ECU) Product Cost Management to work with the F135 ECU PMO, Production Chief, Industrial Management, Procurement and Engineering Teams to develop and execute the cost management strategy for the F135 ECU. This position will be responsible for helping keep the ECU affordable and maintaining it as the lowest cost, sole source engine for the F‑35 for decades to come.
This is a unique opportunity for an individual to identify and lead projects to drive cost savings throughout the development phases of the engine program. The ECU program is a fast‑paced, high visibility, time critical, dynamic environment and the selected candidate must be adaptable, able to think critically and strategically, and able to work in high‑pressure situations.
- Responsible for verifying the T250 production engine cost and performance against program Job Ticket requirements and annual ECU engine cost goals.
- As a member of the PCMT (Program Cost Management Team) you will be responsible for helping shape and implement the ECU cost strategy and report out status to P&W and Military Engines Senior Management including the ECU and F135 IPMTs.
- Provide guidance to CIPT cost focals on how to manage and track product cost impacts at the part and module level per the Job Ticket requirements.
- Work with the Production Chief, PMO, Procurement and Engineering teams to drive cost management projects.
- Support the Production Chief with detailed knowledge of cost management status, risks, and necessary decisions and investments to execute the strategy.
- Ability to coordinate a cross‑functional team, prioritize multiple, competing tasks with attention to detail, develop and present material across all levels and functions of the company.
- Up to 10% travel.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or other related field with 8 years of experience in cost management, program management, supply chain management or related field: or an advanced degree with 5 years of experience.
- U.S. Citizen - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Experience leading a team and managing constantly shifting priorities in a deadline driven environment.
- Ability to work directly with customers; experience with Military Customers.
- Knowledge of Product Cost, Industrial Management, Supply Chain and Procurement processes including CEM generation.
- Technical knowledge and experience with development programs; experience with the F135.
- Technical knowledge of sustainment, and/or maintenance of military propulsion systems.
