Senior Client Accountant | Part-Time | East Grinstead

Hours: 22-28 hours per week (flexible across 3-5 days)

Are you a proactive and experienced Senior Client Accountant looking for a part-time role within a friendly and growing accountancy practice?

We are working with a well-established, independent accountancy firm based in East Grinstead that supports a range of local businesses and individuals. Known for their collaborative, family-feel culture and client-first approach, they're seeking a dedicated Senior Client Accountant to join their team and play a key role in driving the business forward.
The Role:

As a Senior Client Accountant, you will:

• Prepare annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and small limited companies
• Oversee and submit quarterly VAT returns and monthly CIS returns
• Support and review bookkeeping tasks carried out by junior staff
• Manage client queries related to VAT, CIS, and general accounting matters
• Prepare background work for year-end accounts and collate personal tax information
• Utilise cloud accounting software such as Xero, Quick Books, Sage, and Iris
• Stay up-to-date with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements

What We're Looking For:

• 3-5 years of practice experience in a similar role
• AAT qualified (or equivalent)
• Strong working knowledge of VAT law and CIS returns
• Proficiency in Xero, Quick Books, Sage, Iris, and Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team
• A proactive approach and confidence in client-facing situations
