About the Job

Sanford Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Practicum Student to join its team at the East Grand Forks Clinic in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. The Behavioral Health Practicum Student will work under the supervision of a clinical supervisor or admitting provider to provide assessment, treatment, and support to patients with mental health and behavioral health needs.

Key Responsibilities

Assess patient needs and develop treatment plans

Implement treatment interventions specific to patient needs

Continuously assess patients’ progress and revise treatment plans accordingly

Document treatment sessions and provide patient progress updates to the interdisciplinary team

Educate patient support members about patient issues and interventions

Refer for additional clinical services or to specialists, as needed

Stay current on emerging issues in the profession

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a qualified college or university pursuing a Master’s or Doctoral degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or another behavioral health science with permission
No experience required, but preference given to individuals with work experience in delivering services to persons with mental illness, substance use disorders, emotional disturbances, traumatic brain injury, or developmental disabilities
