First Piece Inspector (1st Shift)
Barnes is looking for an experienced inspector to conduct first‑piece inspections on complex aerospace parts. The selected individual will plan and perform dimensional checks, verify that inspection sheets meet blueprint requirements, use precision measuring tools, and maintain accurate records.
Responsibilities- Conduct first‑piece and dimensional inspections on aerospace parts.
- Verify correct operation sheets and blueprint requirements.
- Use CMM optical comparators, sine plates, micrometers, V‑blocks, verniers, height stands, and other precision equipment.
- Return parts to operators with proper gauging and equipment.
- Complete required paperwork and documentation.
- Perform any related duties as directed.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience inspecting complex aerospace parts.
- Proficiency with PC‑DMIS and precision measurement equipment.
- Strong math, communication, and record‑keeping skills.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Commitment to high ethical standards and product quality.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
