Our client, a leading organization in the manufacturing and logistics industry, is seeking a Forklift Operator to join their team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be part of the warehouse operations supporting inventory management and material handling. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.
Location: East Chicago, Indiana
Pay: $19/hour
Shift: Friday & Saturday: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Sunday & Monday: 6:00 PM – 4:30 AM
What’s the Job?
Responsibilities- Operate a sit‑down, counterbalance forklift to move, stack, load, and unload materials.
- Transport raw materials, WIP, and finished goods between storage, production, and loading docks.
- Position pallets in designated storage areas and maximize space utilization.
- Use RF scanners and/or Warehouse Management Systems to track inventory.
- Load and unload inbound and outbound trucks or trailers.
- Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, pallet configuration, and material handling practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs manually when required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Good vision, balance, and spatial awareness.
