An established environmental services company in East Chicago, Indiana seeks an Piping/Plumbing Superintendent to oversee field operations across industrial maintenance and infrastructure projects. This hands‑on leadership role manages crew scheduling, safety protocols, equipment deployment, and client coordination for Lead Pipe Replacement projects, throughout Northwest Indiana and the greater Chicago area.

- Supervise field crews of 5-15 technicians and CDL operators across multiple job sites daily
- Coordinate project scheduling, equipment deployment, and resource allocation for industrial cleaning and roadway services
- Ensure OSHA safety compliance, conduct toolbox talks, and investigate incidents while enforcing confined space entry protocols
- Serve as primary client liaison for municipalities, utilities, and industrial facilities throughout the region
- Manage quality control documentation, project reports, and regulatory compliance records for environmental services operations
- 5+ years progressive field experience in environmental services, industrial maintenance, or heavy civil construction
- Valid driver's license with clean MVR; CDL Class A or B preferred but not required
- OSHA 30 certification required; confined space competent person certification strongly preferred
- Proven crew supervision experience with union workforce highly preferred
- Strong communication skills for client relations and crew management across diverse project types
- Union Operating Engineers Local 150 background or similar trade union experience
- Experience with vacuum truck operations, hydro excavation, or roadway crack sealing projects
- Proficiency with CMMS systems or maintenance management software
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions across industrial and municipal sites
- Travel 25-35% to job sites throughout Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland area
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly; occasional lifting to 75 lbs
- Ability to enter confined spaces for inspection and crew oversight
Stand, walk, climb, and navigate construction/industrial environments for extended periods - Work varied shifts including days, nights, weekends, and on-call emergency response
$105,000 per year
