Bilingual Clinician

National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) invites applications for the Bilingual Clinician position. NYAP serves children, youth, and families across multiple programs and seeks a clinician who aligns with its core values of doing what is best for our community.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all work consistent with NYAP’s mission, values, and philosophies.
  • Collaborate with the cross‑functional service team to provide trauma‑informed, mental‑health‑related services, including assessments and referrals.
  • Provide child‑facing services on‑site, including individual and group counseling and crisis intervention.
  • Maintain an active clinical caseload and consistently achieve established service delivery thresholds.
  • Conduct mental‑health assessments, facilitate family sessions, and perform visits at foster caregivers’ homes as needed.
  • Monitor clients’ mental well‑being, arrange appropriate services, and coordinate external specialized services with community mental‑health providers.
  • Complete required risk, UC, human‑trafficking, RST, safety plans, post‑18 age‑out plans and other assessments within expected time frames.
  • Provide consultation and documentation regarding clients’ functioning, mental‑health status, and treatment needs.
  • Participate in staffing with the cross‑functional team and stakeholders.
  • Orient children in care and travel to provide community‑based services as required.
  • Complete all required documentation and training in a timely manner and consistently achieve productivity thresholds.
  • Coordinate and monitor services for youth and family in the community, including medical, educational, psychological, and social services.
  • Screen for human‑trafficking concerns and provide crisis intervention services.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s or doctorate degree in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling, or another behavioral discipline with required clinical experience.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure; non‑licensed staff must work toward licensure and achieve it within three years of employment.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency required.
  • Proficient use of desktop/laptop computers, internet search, people‑management programs, smartphones, tablets, printers, fax machines, photocopiers, word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.
  • Willingness to work flexible and non‑traditional hours, including nights/weekends and on‑call duties.
  • Ability to organize, navigate, and physically escort youth to travel destinations, including out‑of‑state trips up to 25‑30% for family unification.
  • Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/300,000 bodily liability coverage.
  • 21 years of age, valid state driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and good driving record.

  • Capacity to be flexible and responsive to youth, foster caregivers, system partners, and internal/external stakeholders.
Physical Demands
  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
  • Repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, sustained visual and mental demands.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
  • Ability to travel frequently and drive a vehicle for extended periods, varying with program demands.
