Adjunct - Automotive Technology – Ivy Tech Community College

Location:

Lake County Campuses (Crown Point, East Chicago, Gary). This is an in‑person, part‑time role with day, evening, or Saturday classes based on schedule and enrollment.

Pay: $47.35 per contact hour. Eligible for free tuition benefits and professional development opportunities.

• Create a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and provide effective instruction and assessment.
• Develop and maintain course syllabi consistent with the School’s Common Syllabus.
• Maintain accurate student attendance, grading, and record‑keeping records according to College policy and submit requested information within established timelines.
• Be available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions or provide assistance, and consult with program coordinator to resolve student concerns.
• Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s) and use technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.
• Notify program/department chair of any emergency absence.
• Conduct all instructional activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views, and promote a work environment in which all individuals feel respected and valued.

• Current Workplace Specialist License granted by the Indiana Department of Education appropriate to course objectives and directly linked to credentials, certifications, and competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR).
• Any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR).
• 5 years directly related work experience in the field that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR).
• Master Tech a plus.
• Official college transcripts required upon hiring and employment contingent on acceptable criminal background checks.
