We are looking to hire for a technology-driven organization supporting a large-scale, nationwide deployment under a specialized contract. Our team plays a critical role in ensuring hardware devices are properly received, tested, configured, and deployed to hundreds of sites across the United States.
Position Overview
The Inventory & Hardware Deployment Technician is responsible for receiving, inspecting, testing, documenting, and preparing hardware devices for nationwide deployment. This role requires strong attention to detail, basic technical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, process-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect incoming hardware shipments
- Verify quantities and device condition against packing lists
- Perform initial power-on tests to ensure devices boot properly
- Apply asset tags and maintain accurate inventory records
- Serial numbers
- MAC addresses
- Device status
- Connect devices to the internet to enable remote access and configuration
- Coordinate with a remote technical team to support firmware upgrades
- Conduct basic validation and functionality testing after upgrades
- Repackage devices with required accessories and documentation
- Prepare site-specific kits for deployment
- Coordinate outbound shipments to approximately 900 sites nationwide
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and networking concepts
- Experience with inventory handling, asset tracking, or IT staging preferred
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and documentation requirements
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfortable working with multiple devices simultaneously
- Ability to lift and move hardware packages as needed
- Previous experience in IT deployment, hardware staging, or logistics
- Familiarity with firmware upgrades or device configuration
- Experience working on large-scale or contract-based technology projects
