Job DescriptionThe Banking Associate plays a vital role in delivering TD’s Brand promise at a store location. The role is accountable for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals.
Responsibilities- Process customer transactions, open new accounts, and educate customers on all banking products and services.
- Deliver end‑to‑end advice by building trust with educational content, providing consultative support, and advocating proactive insights and recommendations.
- Utilize TD's systems to engage with customers, acquire and deepen relationships, and attract and retain customers.
- Identify opportunities to promote and educate on products and offer referrals while ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Accurately complete everyday banking transactions on the teller line or on the platform while uncovering customer needs and offering product education or referrals.
- Serve customers on both the teller line and platform, handling deposits, debit/credit card issues, Regulation E, mobile, and online banking.
- Manage leads through self‑generated, partner, or campaign activity, including outreach, appointment scheduling, and prioritization.
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of customer‑facing experience (volunteer, education, military, or other).
- Strong customer service skills.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
- Teller experience preferred.
- Ability to complete required teller training and platform training upon hire.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Notary license preferred.
Customer Accountabilities:
- Consistently provide legendary service while transacting, promoting, and educating on TD products.
- Build and nurture relationships by demonstrating product knowledge and listening to customer needs.
- Manage wait times and schedule or cancel client meetings.
- Lead lobby operations, serve as first contact for inquiries and resolution, and coordinate appointments.
- Support the bank’s customer‑service strategy and consider the impact of decisions on TD and its stakeholders.
- Drive referrals to store colleagues and partners.
- Follow policy, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Complete required job‑specific and compliance‑related training.
Shareholder Accountabilities:
- Maintain compliance with regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act.
- Accurately process cash, deposits, withdrawals, and related requests.
- Execute daily transactions: opening/closing accounts, checking deposits, card reorders, address updates.
- Apply authentication, due diligence, and controls for new account openings.
- Keep accurate cash drawer balances and follow open/close procedures.
