SEASONED COMMERCIAL HVAC TECHNICIAN
Location: Easley, SC
Job Responsibilities- Diagnose causes of problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning systems, refrigeration systems, and food service equipment, to identify repair or replacement needs with accuracy and minimal callbacks.
- Perform maintenance and service repairs, install new units, or replace parts of existing units according to specifications for 15 tons and larger.
- Maintain larger preventative maintenance contracts with more than 5 units.
- Repair or replace defective parts in units and equipment and their controls.
- Service and troubleshoot mini-splits and/or replace smaller RTUs and mini-splits for 15 tons or less.
- Service, troubleshoot, and repair boilers, chillers, controls, VFDs, VRFs, and chilled water systems of various sizes.
- Communicate with Dispatch to ensure completion of scheduled jobs.
- Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and procedures for customers.
- Provide elite customer service to every customer encountered.
- Continual learning and development through First Call Academy to maintain high skill standards.
- Provide elite level customer service to be the preferred HVAC partner for customers.
This position reports to the local Service Manager and is responsible for engaging with the service team and all customers.
Qualifications- Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
- Active EPA Certification
- 4+ years of experience in a commercial HVAC setting
- OSHA 10 & 30 Certification
- Manufacturer Certifications
- Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Language Skills – Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence and effectively communicate with customers, including explaining problems and resolutions. Maintain clear communication with account managers on jobs.
Mathematical Skills – Ability to perform basic arithmetic, rate, ratio, percent calculations, and interpret graphs as needed.
Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense in following instructions, solve problems with multiple variables, and lead other technicians when appropriate. Intermediate computer skills.
Physical Demands – Regular use of hands; ability to stand, walk, and sit; ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; vision requirements as described.
