Compensation

The position starts at $19.50/hour
, with potential to earn up to an additional $2.50/hour within your first 90 days based on performance evaluations:

  • 30-Day Review – Potential increase up to $0.50/hour
  • 60-Day Review – Potential increase up to $0.50/hour
  • 90-Day Review – Potential increase up to $1.50/hour

Primary Purpose

Successful candidates are expected to comply with general attendance policies and safety policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Can perform a variety of welding functions and be familiar with and capable of using various types of welding equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining quality and for reporting accurate quantities to the Job Boss process.

Essential Duties

  • Manually guide electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining arc length and movement speed to form the specified depth of fusion and bead, judged by color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle.

Other Duties

  • Assist other departments as required or directed. May act as line leader, setting up lines and checking weld quality of co-workers. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Ability to perform simple shop math and convert decimals to fractional equivalents.
  • Read a calibrated tape measure.
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents finished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality and procedure manuals.

Experience

  • 6 months required in welding.
  • 3 years preferred in welding, reading blueprints, and checking weld quality.
