Permanent Overview An opportunity has arisen for a skilled and motivated Toolmaker to play a key role within a forward-thinking and innovative organization. This position offers the chance to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, contributing to high-quality production processes. Responsibilities As a Toolmaker, your duties will include:
Planning and executing work to meet production schedules and deadlines. Manufacturing tools based on design specifications and standards. Using precision tools such as micrometres, verniers, and gauges. Repairing, maintaining, and enhancing mould and press tooling. Conducting evaluations of repair jobs to ensure tools meet operational standards. Operating manual machinery, such as mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM sinkers. Performing benchwork and keeping tooling systems in good working condition.
Adhering to Health and Safety regulations. Reporting any equipment issues to the line manager for resolution. Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:
Relevant engineering qualification or a time-served apprenticeship. Current Abrasive Wheels Regulations certification. Familiarity with hot runner systems, unscrewing mould tools, and progression strip tools. Laser welding experience (desirable but not mandatory). Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer literacy for operational duties. A strong mechanical aptitude, coupled with a proactive mindset towards learning and skills development. Day-to-Day Key daily activities will involve:
Inspection and testing of tools to ensure they meet technical specifications. Collaboration with team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Management of multiple concurrent tasks while effectively addressing challenges. Staying informed of the latest industry technologies in moulding and manufacturing. Maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
