William Perkin Church of England High School is a highly successful and heavily oversubscribed school which achieves exceptional outcomes for its students. It opened as a Free School in September 2013 and its progress measures at GCSE have consistently placed it in the top 5% of schools nationally. It has a flourishing sixth form with a particular specialism in STEM subjects.

William Perkin works closely with Imperial College London, The Royal Society and the Institute for Research in Schools (IRIS) to ensure our success as a centre of excellence for STEM. It serves the local community in North Greenford but benefits from being part of the Twyford CE Academies Trust, the top-performing MAT in the UK. William Perkin has a strong and distinctively Christian ethos with open admissions criteria.

The school is rated ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted (May 2025) and was very successful in its most recent SIAMS inspection (January 2024).

As language specialism schools, William Perkin places languages at the center of its curriculum. All students have languages almost every day and it is compulsory at GCSE, which means that the students make excellent progress. Our results at GCSE are outstanding in both the school as a whole and in the languages department specifically. The value placed on languages in the school is evident in our A level numbers – we run A levels in French, German and Spanish.

We additionally run extracurricular Language provision clubs with a range of activities such as film, board games and competitions in the target language. The Twyford Trust Languages Specialism provides a range of exciting and collaborative ventures, such as trips to target language countries to enable our students to experience and use their language learning in an authentic context.
