In this field-based position as a Seasonal Open Space Trails Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the maintenance, construction, and stewardship of the Town’s open space properties and natural-surface trail system. This position performs physical labor associated with trail maintenance, erosion control, signage installation, and general open space upkeep, while working independently and as part of a team.
The Seasonal Open Space Trails Technician also serves as a front-line representative of the Open Space program by providing basic user assistance, supporting public education efforts, and reporting trail, safety, and resource conditions to supervisory staff. The position may assist with volunteer projects, special events, and natural resource stewardship activities, and work closely with year-round staff to support seasonal priorities and ongoing operations.
PositionType and Expected Hours of Work
Full-time, 40-hour workweek, scheduled for approximately 730 hours between April and November. Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Key responsibilities include- Maintenance of open space properties and trails, including maintenance of signage, fencing, cattle guards, and other open space assets.
- Noxious weed control and pest management, field observations, mapping and/or documentation.
- Maintain inventory, related office and administrative tasks and records.
- Coordination and support of programs, crews, and special events.
- Support seasonal priorities and overall Open Space program operations.

Requirements to Join the Team- Valid Colorado driver’s license within 30 days of hire and insurable under Town standards.
- Ability to pass a pre-hire drug test, motor vehicle, and criminal background check.
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending).
