Overview

Eagle River Animal Hospital is a leading-edge animal care provider for the greater Vilas County, WI. We are looking for an additional (one or two) associate veterinarian(s). In our NEW, large, state-of-the-art clinic, we heal pets and educate their families on maximizing the wellbeing of their furry, feathered, or scaled members. You’ll practice your passion in abundant and spacious consultation/exam rooms, a fully equipped surgical suite, and with the crucial support you need to provide the highest level of patient care.

What

we offer
  • Private office space for charting and phone calls.
  • A well-appointed staff lounge for respite, collaborations and relaxation with other team members.
  • Staff Fear Free Certification
  • Impromed Infinity practice software
  • IDEXX in-house lab
  • Digital radiographs
  • Digital dental radiographs
  • Ultrasound
  • Surgi Vet multi-parameter monitor w/end tidal CO2
  • New LED surgical lights
  • Certified veterinary technician and veterinary assistant present for monitoring and assistance for each surgery
  • Two Companion laser therapy units: one for post surgical incisions and another for other treatments outside of surgery
  • Large screen monitors to show patient flow through the clinic
  • Casco brand made kennels and cages (for reduced patient stress + improved care)
  • Separate cat/dog kennels + recovery suite with viewing window
  • Dog trainer on staff and on site
  • And more
You may be a great fit at Eagle River Animal Hospital if
  • You love immersing yourself in all four seasons of nature (we’re talking chickadees eating from your hand, lake and river adventures, skiing and snowmobiling, hiking, biking, wildlife, and more)
  • Small towns hold a special place in your heart, and you can’t wait to slot into a community that truly values who you are and what you do. Building RELATIONSHIPS with your patients and their families is your “thing.”
  • You enjoy recognition and support (like cupcakes and roses!) on your birthday and work anniversaries–yep we do that here.
  • Mentoring and coaching light you up—you can’t wait for the chance to grow your skills under our masterful leader and 30+ year Veterinarian and Owner, Dr. Katie Hom and seasoned associate Dr. Mary Camp.
  • Sales and production don’t freak you out—and you enjoy the commission checks as they roll in.
  • You’re willing to move IN or NEAR the Eagle River, WI community.
  • 4-Day work weeks and Saturday rotations every 3 weeks are perfectly reasonable in your mind (3 or 5 days is also an option).
  • You love humor, camaraderie, and appreciating your support team (reception, vet techs, and other behind-the-scene team members)
  • Do not want to be on call!! Weekday day DVM opening position (new graduates will be mentored)
  • Although, if emergency/urgent care is where your veterinary heart lives, our second DVM opening is a weekend day shift only position (not a mentored position) available for you
This job is NOT for you if
  • Winter and you don’t get along
  • You can’t stand caring, nurturing, and collaborative environments
Compensation and benefits
  • $124,800K salary base (FT schedule, 4-day work week 8am-5pm, and every 3rd Saturday 9am-1pm)

  • Preventive care for up to two family pets
  • Other products at clinic cost
