Overview

Position: Construction Remodel Specialist

Supervisor: Maintenance Supervisor/Housing Director

Division: Reservation Services Administration

Department: Housing

• Plan and budget for a remodeling project.
• Ensure company procedures are followed through the duration of the project.
• Make cost estimates for the services required and adjust as needed.
• Source materials for the project.
• Install structures and fixtures, such as doors, windows and molding
• Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, and spaces for installation accurately
• Estimate height, width, length, and other proportions
• Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders for repairs.
• Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives
• Work on top of stilts, ladders, and the top beams of buildings
• Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure
• Install cabinets and molding
• Replace panes of glass, ceiling tiles, and doors
• Move and install machinery
• Use skills in other related trades such as plumbing, roofing, bricklaying, painting, tiling, plastering, etc.
• Use power tools and other tools to cut and shape wood, metal, and other materials
• Communicate with supervisor to provide project updates.
• Collaborate with contractors to ensure project is completed on time.
• Perform such other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or graduation equivalent diploma (GED) and 3 years of experience in home remodeling projects; work experience will be considered in lieu of education.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous work-related experience is preferred.
