Department: Housing
Responsibilities- Plan and budget for a remodeling project.
- Ensure company procedures are followed through the duration of the project.
- Make cost estimates for the services required and adjust as needed.
- Source materials for the project.
- Install structures and fixtures, such as doors, windows and molding
- Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, and spaces for installation accurately
- Estimate height, width, length, and other proportions
- Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders for repairs.
- Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives
- Work on top of stilts, ladders, and the top beams of buildings
- Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure
- Install cabinets and molding
- Replace panes of glass, ceiling tiles, and doors
- Move and install machinery
- Use skills in other related trades such as plumbing, roofing, bricklaying, painting, tiling, plastering, etc.
- Use power tools and other tools to cut and shape wood, metal, and other materials
- Communicate with supervisor to provide project updates.
- Collaborate with contractors to ensure project is completed on time.
- Perform such other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or graduation equivalent diploma (GED) and 3 years of experience in home remodeling projects; work experience will be considered in lieu of education.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous work-related experience is preferred.
