The QA/QC Instrument Technician is responsible for ensuring that all construction, manufacturing, or technical projects meet established quality standards. This role combines hands-on trade expertise with formal quality assurance and quality control processes to guarantee compliance with specifications, codes, and safety regulations.
Essential Functions- Coordination of all Celco and customer test and inspection requirements,
- Test
- Product Inspection
- Drawing requirements and standards
- Lamacoid, labels and genera! inspection
- Document QA/QC findings, prepare reports, and maintain compliance records.
- Creation and sign off on deficiencies.
- Maintain Celco and customer test standards.
- Complete and file Factory Acceptance Tests.
- Pressure testing of various instrument & tubing installations.
- Test area setup, maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Maintaining calibration of ail test and manufacturing applicable equipment.
- Develop and enhance In-process quality checks.
- ISO compliant quality documentation review and sign off.
- Class Ap license documentation review and sign off.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and promote a culture of safety and quality.
Education and Experience
- Journeyman-level trade certification (e.g. pipefitter, steamfitter, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC principles, standards, and inspection techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications , and codes.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role considered an asset.
- Previous experience working on large industrial construction projects.
- Able to manage project work packages and project schedule.
- Able to perform project management duties.
- Proven ability to manage daily workloads effectively and identify and prioritize issues of an urgent nature with ease.
- Effective organizational skills for documentation and record keeping.
- Knowledge in Technical Safety BC regulations in Boiler, Pressure Vessel, Refrigeration.
- Able to join or current member of United Association of Plumbers and Pipe fitters, Local 170.
