Position Description

The National Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring consistent, profitable, and scalable execution of all National Paint work across the country. This role owns day-to-day operations, field performance, production planning, and execution discipline.

Major Opportunities & Key Accountabilities
  • Own execution of all National Paint projects across the country, ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget, and to FCP quality and safety standards.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for operational issues, proactively identifying and resolving risks.
  • Own job-level labor efficiency and margin performance; review job cost reports weekly and act on variances.
  • Lead and develop Project Managers and Field Project Managers, setting clear expectations for planning, communication, and accountability.
  • Indirectly lead Foremen and field crews, reinforcing productivity, quality, and safety standards.
  • Enforce FCP quality and safety standards through structured training, routine inspections, and consistent accountability across all projects.
  • Design, implement, and enforce repeatable operational systems including job handoff, scheduling, production tracking, and closeout discipline.
  • Partner with Estimating to validate production assumptions and improve estimating accuracy through feedback.
  • Support and strengthen key customer relationships in partnership with client relationship managers, Business Unit Leaders, the CEO, COO, sales leadership, and sales teams to achieve segment and company-wide revenue goals.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, productive relationships with strategic partners and vendors.

This position requires regular engagement with field teams and job sites.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Must have an entrepreneurial spirit who will act as a business owner, within the built-in structure and support from the FCP Executive Leadership Team.
  • Proven experience leading paint or specialty trade operations
  • Proven ability to lead teams through the adoption of new systems and processes, translating change into measurable performance improvements.
  • Strong understanding of job costing, labor productivity, and field execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to hold teams accountable while maintaining morale.
  • Calm, structured leader who reduces chaos and creates predictability.
