TheImpact You Will Have
The primary function of this position is to provide leadership, facilitation, analysis, design and execution in a cloud database architecture. Your primary focus will be on team management, work planning, and ensuring stakeholder needs are met. Expectations include addressing business requirements, selecting the right cloud solutions that provide scalability, security, performance and reliability. You will work closely with the cloud engineering, architecture, software engineering, analytics and product teams to design database applications, operational models and solutions including interfaces, data transfer mechanisms and partitions, optimizations to enable efficient access, and automated operations on cloud native databases.
YourResponsibilities
- Work collaboratively with all levels of business stakeholders to design, implement and test data solutions from disparate sources. Serve as the primary point of contact between data engineering teams and product owners.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs, ensuring scalability and high availability, fault tolerance, and elasticity within the data ecosystem.
- Facilitate architectural alignment and direction across teams; understand data engineering concepts and tools to identify potential risks or blockers.
- Demonstrate thought leadership and interpersonal skills; mentor team members and collaborate with business partners to drive adoption and optimization of the analytics platform.
- Define data standards, policies and procedures; champion automation across the organization, including CI/CD, infrastructure‑as‑code, automated testing and process‑based automation.
- Lead and mentor engineers and technical leads; conduct design reviews, oversee sprint planning, backlog grooming, resource allocation, and facilitate retrospectives.
- Maintain trust and intellectual integrity with business and IT partners; influence change from tactical to strategic orientation.
- 5+ years of related professional experience.
- 2+ years in a management, team lead or organizational leadership role.
- Demonstrated success managing and developing technical teams to deliver complex projects.
- Ability to translate business needs into team objectives and actionable plans.
- Experience with a modern data platform and cloud‑based solutions.
- Familiarity with AWS, Google Cloud or Azure technologies.
- Experience leading cloud database design, integration and data ingestion.
- Strong organizational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience facilitating sprint planning, backlog management and retrospectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and analytical skills.
- High school diploma (or equivalency) and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics or related field.
- Experience in healthcare data operations or regulatory compliance (CMS, HEDIS, EDI).
- Project management experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
- Technical literacy with data engineering tools (SQL, Python, AI, cloud platforms, ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines).
- Experience standardizing engineering practices across teams (coding standards, documentation, code review processes).
