Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

• Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Registers sales on assigned cash register, provides customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
• Assists the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Models and shares customer service best practices with team members to deliver a distinctive customer experience, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service; recommends items for sale and assists customers with locating products.
• Registers customer purchases, handles cash and payments, processes returns, exchanges, rain checks, and refunds, and assists customers in locating items (e.g., OTC aisle).
• Maintains counters and shelves, conducts inventory, prices merchandise, and supports pharmacy operations by entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying accuracy, and checking for potential interactions.
• Reports prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty; adheres to company policies and procedures related to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program; complies with Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing policies.
• Handles non-urgent pharmacist calls and processes manual claim submissions for third-party prescription services; performs other clerical duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
• Supports Pharmacy Department with inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, storing shipments, and safeguarding company assets; documents overages, shortages, order errors, and damaged goods involving Rx drugs.
• Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco).
• Constructs and maintains displays and completes resets as directed; assists with product placement, stock rotation, and store merchandising practices.
• Maintains knowledge of store systems and equipment; provides customer service in the photo area (digital passport photos, poster prints, and promotional photo products).
• Assumes web pickup responsibilities (monitors orders, fills orders, and delivers them to customers).
• Assists with store maintenance to maintain clean, neat, and orderly conditions and complies with all company policies and procedures; maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

• Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration.
• Attends training and completes professional development activities requested by Manager or assigned by corporate; maintains knowledge of healthcare and pharmacy updates.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico)
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.

• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling (counting, measuring, weighing).
• Prefer good computer skills and knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB certification.
