Systems Engineer

South Metro | $45-65/hr

Konik is partnering with a local engineering firm that is seeking to add a Systems Engineer to their team. In this role, you will work with clients to understand their needs, define requirements for various disciplines, and do high‑level system design. You will provide technical leadership on projects, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to meet customers' needs. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, multidisciplinary projects that integrate hardware, software, and systems architecture—ideal for engineers who enjoy solving challenging technical problems and influencing product direction from concept to implementation.

• Create and carry out systems engineering evaluations and trade studies, and make implementation recommendations.
• Convert client needs into specifications.
• Organize and/or carry out modifications and additions to the hardware, software, and associated systems, including research, analysis, advice, configuration, installation, and testing of new hardware and software.
• Directly supports the daily operations of developing hardware and software; responsibilities include assessing system use, monitoring reaction time, and providing primary support for identifying and fixing operational issues.
• Participates in the planning, design, technical evaluation, and implementation of new operating systems and hardware for both new and existing system designs.
• Provides engineering employees with technical direction, instruction, and support.

• Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in relevant field.
• Strong background in overall technical system design of electromechanical products.
• Excellent communication ability; comfortable interfacing directly with clients as well as a wide variety of internal stakeholders.
• Ability to obtain secret security clearance and to work in an ITAR‑compliant setting.
