The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for developing a category management strategy and executing a strategic sourcing plan to support cost reduction and quality objectives for spending. In close collaboration with key team members, this position oversees cross-functional teams that includes general facility and company spend categories. This position is charged with ensuring that all products and services sourced meet defined quality standards, costs are market competitive, cost reduction opportunities are identified and realized, and efficiency improvements are implemented.
The ability to work in a team environment, interact with individuals in Management, work across multiple facets of the organization, properly prioritize daily activities, and to understand operational issues in a complex corporate structure is essential in this position.
- Lead teams to develop specifications for goods and services
- Lead negotiations efforts on purchase agreements and vendor contracts with the goal or achievement of quality, delivery, cost containment and process improvement
- Lead the planning and execution of sourcing strategies across the organization through the use of data analytics and process excellence.
- Optimize and enhance company wide procurement policies and processes to improve overall efficiencies and effectiveness as well as enable governance and compliance
- Ensure system sourcing controls are in place and adhered to
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop improved business processes, policies, and procedures for purchasing transaction management and automation.
- Identify key/critical spend categories and implement category management practices
- Create procurement technology practices including catalog management, supplier
- Analyze supplier risk in key categories; anticipate, and monitor for, supplier problems that could affect supply.
- Provide Timely and actionable information for corrective action to be taken to supplier and end users
- Create strong relationships with key suppliers and proactively manage supplier performance
- Measure program utilization and compliance to assist Operations to drive continuous improvement
- Work in a deadline oriented environment
- 4 year degree from accredited university or 5 years of equivalent experience
- Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able and willing to work with other staff, accept instruction from supervisors and communicate appropriately with residents, visitors and staff.
- Must qualify for employment, after criminal background check, per guidelines of the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
