People Incorporated Mental Health Services is seeking a Financial Operations Associate to join our Finance team. This is a full‑time in‑person position responsible for performing tactical financial duties for assigned programs, following established systems and timelines for financial processes and identifying and helping resolve gaps, barriers, and challenges in these processes.
Schedule: Full‑time, Monday‑Friday 8am-4:30pm
Work Location: Flexible within the Twin Cities Metro
- We offer five office locations throughout the Twin Cities, and your primary work site can be matched to your home location or personal preference
- Specific office placement will depend on space availability and be discussed during the hiring process.
Hiring Range: $22.00 - $23.50/ Hourly, based on qualifications
Hiring Bonus: $1,000 external candidates

Main
Job Duties:
- Executes consumer‑related financial processes, including but not limited to the completion of insurance verifications, pre‑authorizations and re‑authorizations, consumer co‑pay processes, and related documentation.
- Accesses, enters, and reports on highly confidential and protected health information in the organization’s electronic medical record system.
- Serve as the subject‑matter expert and resource on technical and procedural applications and identify and recommend efficiency improvements.
- Coordinate efforts with the Billing team for seamless claim and reimbursement processes.
- Develops and maintains unit spreadsheets, databases, correspondence/documents, and other resources that support the consumer‑related financial operations of the unit.
- Communicate professionally and effectively and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.

- The ability to pass the screening required by Federal Human Services Office of Inspector General to assure the employee has not been excluded from working in the Health Care Programs which receive federal funding.
- Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check.
Required
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree.
- Minimum of two years of prior advanced administrative assistant or finance assistant experience.
- In lieu of an Associates degree and two years of experience, a high school diploma and four years of advanced administrative assistant or finance assistant experience OR a bachelor's degree and 1 year advanced administrative assistant experience may be substituted.
Preferred
Education and Experience:
- Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience working with individuals who have mental illness.
- Preference will be given to candidates with prior finance support experience within a not‑for‑profit environment or a healthcare.
