About the PositionAs a Paint Line Loader, you will apply electrostatic powder coating to Pad, Pole, or 3
Phase transformers. This hands‑on role requires precision, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. You’ll contribute directly to ERMCO’s mission by ensuring each unit meets rigorous standards and reflects our core values.
Effectively interpret and follow written and verbal instructions related to the electrostatic powder coating of transformer components, as well as the loading and unloading of parts on the paint line. Safely operate lift equipment and paint line machinery, utilizing proper lifting techniques and hand/power tools. Routinely lift and move materials weighing over 50 lbs. onto or off the monorail system, with or without mechanical assistance.
Ensure all painted components meet ERMCO’s quality standards. Organize and stack finished transformer components on racks, carts, or pallets for assembly. Adhere strictly to all ERMCO safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to follow, understand, and communicate written and verbal instructions
- Proficient in using iPads and other electronic communication devices
- Strong teamwork skills with a focus on open communication and collaboration
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in various units of measurement
- Knowledge and demonstration of proper lifting techniques
- Ability to grasp, reach, and handle tools, materials, and components
- Experience using measuring devices such as paint mil readers
- Skilled in operating overhead hoists and lift‑assist equipment
- Physically capable of lifting/pushing over 50 lbs. and pulling up to 100 lbs.
- Able to stand and walk frequently; occasional sitting, stooping, reaching, or kneeling required
- Visual acuity of 20/40 or better (with or without corrective lenses), normal peripheral vision at least 70 degrees, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Compliance with all plant safety policies, procedures, and department‑specific safety rules
- Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety toe shoes, safety glasses, cut‑resistant gloves, weld hood, and hearing protection
- 3 years of consistent work history
- 1 year of manufacturing experience
