McDowell Center is an outpatient facility located in Dyersburg, Tennessee, for adolescent males and females experiencing mental health, behavioral, and/or substance abuse issues. Our staff is made up of licensed therapists, psychiatrists, nurses, and counselors who offer support for our patients. We provide young men and young ladies with the skills they need to improve their thinking patterns, make healthier choices, and create new futures with improved outlooks and outcomes.

McDowell Center for Children is seeking a dynamic and talented PRN Master Level Therapist. The Therapist creates a safe environment for residents, saves lives when necessary, provides hope, empowers residents, and teaches new tools for coping to residents. The PRN Therapist provides services under the supervision of the Clinical Director.

The PRN Therapist will:

• Provide clinical services to residents in a supported, safe environment.
• Implement therapeutic interventions and crisis management as needed.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Director and multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with regulatory standards.

• Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical/Counseling Psychology or related Social Services field.
• Experience: Prior experience working with a psychiatric mental health population or residential setting preferred.
• Licensure: TN Social Work or Professional Counselor Licence preferred.
• Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationship processes, age‑specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors.
• Must complete and maintain competency training in CPR, HWC and Verbal De‑Escalation – aggression management, crisis intervention and restraint training.

Work Hours:

Typical hours during the day are 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Days may vary on an as needed basis.
