Job SummaryAs an Environmental, Safety, & Health Engineer, you will play a key role in keeping our people safe and our operations running smoothly. You’ll help shape a proactive safety culture, lead safety initiatives, and ensure our teams have the tools, training, and environment they need to work safely every day.
Responsibilities- Support the EHS Manager in developing and implementing safety programs that prevent incidents and reduce risk.
- Ensure full compliance with ERMCO’s safety policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead core Emergency Response responsibilities in alignment with the site’s emergency response plan.
- Partner with leaders and supervisors to help all employees understand and meet ERMCO’s safety expectations.
- Complete safety reporting accurately and on time.
- Maintain programs for employee testing, exposure monitoring, and required evaluations.
- Develop and maintain safety systems, policies, procedures, and standard work.
- Inspect facilities, equipment, and work practices to identify hazards, unsafe behaviors, and improvement opportunities.
- Conduct incident and near‑miss investigations and support corrective action plans.
- Deliver training to employees and managers on safe work practices and safety procedures.
- Ensure contractors meet ERMCO’s safety standards while working onsite.
- Support safety‑related compliance activities connected to SPCC, SWPPP, wastewater, ISO, and operational programs.
- Participate in risk assessments, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work with vendors on equipment specifications and evaluate materials to ensure they meet safety and quality requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Manufacturing EHS experience (5 years preferred).
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Excellent time‑management and organizational skills.
- Self‑driven, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
