Adjunct Instructor General Biology; Pool

Position Summary

Dyersburg State Community College is seeking General Biology adjunct instructors to teach day, evening, and online courses at Dyersburg, Covington, Paris, or other off‑campus centers. Initial assignment may be at one of our teaching locations, with the official work station assignment changing each semester. The successful candidate will become certified and fully use the course management system (eLearn) for all classes.

Attendance, early‑alert notifications, final grades, meetings, and communications with the assigned coordinator/dean are required. This position reports to the Chair of Natural Science & PE and the Dean of Arts, Sciences & Technologies.

• Teach assigned courses in General Biology at Covington, Dyersburg, and/or Paris.
• Prepare course materials.
• Evaluate student learning, maintain class records, and submit required reports on time.

Typical office setting. Sedentary desk work with occasional travel for college or program activities. Minimal hazardous exposure.

• Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with 18 graduate semester hours in General Biology.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and college personnel.
