Adjunct instructors will deliver day, evening, and online classes in Dyersburg, Covington, Paris, and other off‑campus centers. Initial assignments may be at one of our teaching locations, but the official workstation may change each semester. The successful applicant will become certified and fully use the course management system (eLearn) for all classes, attend required meetings, report attendance, early alert notifications, and final grades prior to established deadlines, and communicate curriculum and personnel needs or changes as appropriate to their assigned chair/dean.
This position reports to the Chair of Language, Arts & First Year Experience and the Dean of Arts, Sciences & Technologies.
- Duties and Responsibilities: Teach assigned courses in the disciplines of Orientation across Covington, Dyersburg, and/or Paris; prepare course materials; evaluate student learning, maintain class records, and submit required reports on time. Attend all required meetings and report attendance, early alert notifications, and final grades before the established deadlines; communicate curriculum and personnel needs or changes to the assigned chair/dean.
- Working Conditions: Sedentary desk work with occasional travel for college or program activities. Insignificant effort beyond normal movement. Minimal hazard/exposure in standard office settings with environmental controls to assure health and comfort.
- Required Qualifications: Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Orientation or College Success. Ability to communicate effectively with students and other college personnel.
