Dyersburg State Community College invites applicants for adjunct Physics instructors for day, evening, and online classes held in Dyersburg, Covington, Paris, or at one of our other off‑campus centers. Initial assignment may be at one of our teaching locations, but the official workstation assignment may change each semester. The successful applicant will become certified and fully use the course management system (eLearn) for all classes.
The applicant will also attend required meetings, report attendance, early alert notifications, and final grades prior to the established deadline, and will communicate curriculum and personnel needs or changes as appropriate to their assigned chair or dean. This position reports to the Chair of Natural Sciences & PE and to the Dean of Arts, Sciences, & Technologies.
Teach assigned courses in physics for the designated locations; prepare course materials; evaluate student learning; maintain class records; and submit required reports on time.
Working ConditionsSedentary desk work; occasional travel may be required for college or program activities. Minimal physical effort beyond normal movement in a standard office setting.
Required QualificationsMaster’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Physics.
Ability to communicate effectively with students and other college personnel.
