Urban Driver Apprentice – 7.5t Driver

DX, a market‑leading provider of parcel freight, courier and logistics services across the UK and Ireland, is looking for motivated candidates to join our Urban Driver Apprenticeship programme.

We operate three divisions – DX Freight, DX Express and DX Logistics – delivering a range of specialist services to both business and residential addresses. The Urban Driver Apprenticeship is a 15‑month programme that will prepare apprentices for a full‑time 7.5t Driver role. Apprentices gain professional driving skills, obtain a Category C1 (7.5t) licence and CPC licences, and will eventually transition to a full‑time driver upon completion.

• Represent DX professionally at all times.
• Carry out all tasks required as part of apprenticeship training.
• Drive vehicles safely and legally, complying with all legal and company requirements.
• Perform all daily checks, report defects immediately and complete correct paperwork.
• Scan all products using DX scanning equipment.
• Load deliveries safely before leaving the depot.
• Observe DX procedures and policies at all times.
• Manage routing to achieve premium and timed deliveries.
• Ensure all equipment and PPE is in good order and used as required.
• Report delivery and on‑road issues to the traffic office immediately.
• Ensure customers receive deliveries in excellent condition every time.
• Deal with any customer issues in a polite and effective manner.
• Collect items as instructed, adhering to the given times.

Applicants must:

• Be 18 years or older.
• Have a minimum of 12 months of UK driving experience.
• Hold a Category B licence.

Apprentices will also obtain CPC licences as part of the programme as a legal requirement to drive LGV vehicles.

To be accepted as an apprentice, candidates will be asked to speak with our partner, GTG, who delivers the training. You will need to complete checks, submit information and complete an English and numeracy assessment. Successful completion of this stage will lead to an interview.
