- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in one of the following programming languages:
Java or Kotlin, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree. - 2 years of experience with Android application development.
- 2 years of experience working with mobile application development (e.g., Java for Android/Android SDK).
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 2 years of experience with mobile optimization.
- 2 years of experience with platform as a service and application level frameworks and development for Android.
- Experience with design docs and code authoring and reviewing.
- Understanding of the full Android stack and architecture.

The Google Meet Client Application Infrastructure team develops and maintains core components for high-quality video calling experiences across consumers, educators, small businesses, Googlers, and Fortune 500 companies. We specialize in mobile platforms (iOS and Android) and multi-platform strategies to enhance developer velocity for feature teams.
As an Android Software Engineer, you will enjoy the ambiguity and challenge of digging deeper to solve highly complex issues that often require out of the box thinking.

From pre-computed summaries for email threads, summaries for meetings, and videos created from a document using lifelike AI avatars, our AI opportunity is huge. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

ResponsibilitiesWrite product or system development code.
- Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
- Maintain in-depth understanding of Android development best practices and emerging trends and proactively surface and design solutions for inefficient foundational areas of Meet codebase.
- Work with engineers across the Meet organization to ensure we build the right experience while balancing project delivery and technical investment.
