The Underground Streetlight Groundman/Equipment Operator supports the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground streetlight systems. This role includes operating light to heavy equipment, assisting line crews with excavation and conduit work, and performing physical labor to support electric distribution and lighting infrastructure.

• Clean and prepare the construction site for work, removing debris and potential hazards.
• Assist tradesmen in completing their skilled tasks more effectively.
• Identify utilities and watch dig crew dig to prevent utility hits.
• Operate light to heavy equipment as assigned.
• Clean up and maintain equipment.
• Restock trucks with supplies to ensure crews have the proper tools and materials.

Minimum

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred

• 1 year of relevant experience.
• CDL Class A driver's license.

This job operates in a field environment and routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and standing. Work is performed in inclement weather conditions such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. The position is physically active with lifting required; the employee must be able to bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds, maintain clear vision at 20 feet or more, and possess precise hand‑eye coordination for color identification.
