We’re looking for an OSP Fiber Puller to join a field crew responsible for installing the fiber‑optic cable that powers today’s communications networks. This is essential, skill-based work with long-term career potential.
What You’ll Be Doing Fiber Pulling & Installation- Pulling and routing fiber‑optic cables through conduit, duct banks, vaults, and manholes
- Using winches, spools, pull‑tape, and mechanical equipment for long-distance pulls
- Handling fiber carefully to avoid bends, twists, or damage
- Working alongside an OSP crew to guide cable through pathways and access points
- Managing cable staging, tool organization, and site prep
- Helping identify snags or blockages in conduit and assisting with clearing them
- Using PPE and following all OSP safety protocols
- Working in outdoor environments, confined spaces, trenches, and construction zones
- Setting up barricades and signage when working in public right-of-way areas
This role is for people who show up ready to work every day and want to build a skillset that lasts.
Required- Experience with physically demanding work (construction, telecom, labor, etc.)
- Ability to lift and move heavy cable reels and pull over long distances
- Comfortable using hand tools, cutters, spools, winches, etc.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather
- Can climb 8–10 ft ladders when needed
- Strong communication + ability to follow direction
- Must have a vehicle for jobsite travel
- Must have a credit card for reimbursable expenses
- OSHA 10 (or willingness to get it)
- Previous fiber pulling or OSP telecom construction experience
- Knowledge of conduit systems, duct banks, and pull-tape readings
- Basic understanding of fiber cable types + bend radius
- Not showing up or calling in last minute
- Showing up late
- Being on the phone all day
- Poor attitude or dragging down the crew
- Mostly outdoor work
- Underground and OSP environments
- Construction sites, commercial properties, and public right-of-way areas
- Physical work, long hours at times, and weekly travel to job sites

This is a Contract position based out of Durham, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $22.00/hr.
