Job Title: Sheet Metal Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Sheet Metal Technician to support skilled sheet metal mechanics on commercial construction projects. This role involves assisting with the fabrication, installation, and assembly of HVAC ductwork and related components. Ideal candidates enjoy hands-on work, learn quickly, and thrive in a fast-paced jobsite environment.

• Assist with the fabrication of sheet metal components, including cutting, measuring, and assembling ductwork.
• Support installation tasks for commercial HVAC systems, hangers, supports, and fittings.
• Safely load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas to ensure jobsite safety and efficiency.
• Operate basic hand and power tools such as snips, drills, and shears.
• Follow instructions from lead mechanics and project supervisors.
• Assist with the layout and preparation of materials for installation.
• Comply with safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies.

• Proficiency in sheet metal work.
• Experience with duct work and duct installation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Mechanical skills related to HVAC systems.

• Familiarity with construction environments.
• Experience in sheet metal repair.

The work environment is fast-paced, requiring the use of basic hand and power tools. The role involves working in various commercial construction settings, adhering to safety procedures and company policies. Dress code includes appropriate PPE as required by jobsite safety standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Durham, NC.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Durham, NC.
