The Underground Streetlight Groundman/Equipment Operator supports the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground streetlight systems. This role includes operating light to heavy equipment, assisting line crews with excavation and conduit work, and performing physical labor to support electric distribution and lighting infrastructure. The Groundman/Operator plays a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and continuous street lighting service in residential, commercial, and public areas.

• Clean and prepare the construction site for work, removing debris and potential hazards.
• Assist the tradesmen in completing their skilled tasks more effectively.
• Identify utilities and watch for dig crews to prevent utility hits.
• Clean up and maintain equipment.
• Restock trucks with supplies, ensuring crews have the proper tools and materials to complete the job.

Minimum

• High school diploma, or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred

• 1 year of experience.
• CDL Class A driver’s license.

This job operates in a field environment and routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and twisting. Work may occur in inclement weather (extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, wind). Workers must be able to bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds and have adequate vision and hand-eye coordination.
