Job Description
As a Security Officer - Rover Driver in Durham, NC
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. Learn more: As an unarmed, driving patrol officer at a busy retail and entertainment location, you will complete vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible, and help identify and report security-related concerns.

- Provide customer service to guests, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, disorderly conduct, and/or suspicious activity.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout retail and entertainment areas, common spaces, and the exterior perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
- Monitor points of entry, assist with access control as directed, and help to reduce unauthorized access to back-of-house and restricted areas.
- Observe and report conditions that may impact operations, including loitering, unattended items, blocked exits, and/or property damage.
- Provide a visible presence during peak guest traffic, special events, and/or closing hours to help to deter unwanted activity and support orderly movement of patrons.
- Respond to alarms and calls for service, assess the situation, and request additional support from site leadership and/or public services when needed.
- Complete detailed incident and shift reports, documenting observations, actions taken, and follow-up items per site requirements.
- Support parking lot and exterior walkways with patrol, guest assistance, and observation for vehicle-related concerns and/or lighting issues.
- Use site technology such as radios, access systems, and video monitoring equipment as assigned to support security-related operations and communication.
- Be at least 21+ years of age.
- A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
