Overview

The Security and Loss Prevention Expert (SLP Expert) is a key leadership position within the Amazon Security and Loss Prevention (S&LP) team. This position reports to the SLP Cluster Manager and leads the effort to efficiently and effectively provide end‑to‑end (E2E) S&LP services across all assigned operational business units.

• Identify vulnerabilities and conduct root‑cause analysis using data to define mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Actively monitor and report outcomes for systems and tools that generate data indicating site/region opportunities.
• Manage confidential investigations and prepare prompt reports of theft, fraud, and workplace violence/critical incidents.
• Utilize continuous improvement to drive process enhancements and increase efficiency.
• Serve as the department’s liaison and security/crisis management subject‑matter expert, keeping site leadership informed on key issues, strategies, and performance.
• Identify, promote, and implement security best practices while partnering with internal customers to evaluate current and future security needs, processes, and initiatives.
• Facilitate and manage incident response planning and execution.
• Travel domestically, up to 50% of the time, when applicable.
• Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach; stand/walk up to 12 hours during shifts; work in environments with variable noise, temperature, and weather; continuously climb and descend stairs (applies to sites with stairs).
• Cover 24/7 operations and be able to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

As an SLP Expert, you will join a team of S&LP professionals providing security as a service to business customers across multiple business units within a dedicated geographical area. You will perform regular physical security audits, investigate policy violations and loss events, collect information by monitoring systems and tools, analyze data reports, and conduct interviews. Your findings will identify vulnerabilities and drive mitigating measures, maintain physical integrity of sites, collaborate with suppliers, and deliver loss prevention education and awareness programs.

• Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 4+ years of relevant professional or military experience.
  • Minimum of 2+ years in security service OR loss prevention OR asset protection OR investigations OR law enforcement OR 2+ years of Amazon blue‑badge experience.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in implementing metric‑based strategies utilizing continuous improvement concepts.
  • Experience in physical security systems maintenance/implementation and coordinating scope of work with security vendors.
  • 2+ years of operational experience in risk management, audit, data analytics, inventory control, quality assurance, retail, warehouse, distribution center services, delivery service, or supply chain.
  • Investigative interviewing experience;
    Wicklander and Zulawski, Loss Prevention Qualified, Certified Protection Professional, Loss Prevention Certified, Certified Forensic Interviewer, Certified Threat Assessment Certification, or other relevant certifications.
  • Workplace incident mitigation or de‑escalation and business continuity planning experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel pivot tables and development of charts/graphics.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
