The Security and Loss Prevention Expert (SLP Expert) is a key leadership position within the Amazon Security and Loss Prevention (S&LP) team. This role leads the effort to efficiently and effectively provide End‑to‑End (E2E) S&LP services across all assigned operational business units. This position reports to the SLP Cluster Manager.

Key job responsibilities

  • Actively monitor and report outcomes for systems and tools that generate data indicating site/region opportunities.
  • Manage confidential investigations and prepare prompt reports of theft, fraud, and workplace violence/critical incidents.

  • Serve as the department’s liaison and security/crisis management subject‑matter expert, keeping site leadership informed on the department’s key issues, strategies and performance.

As a SLP Expert, you will join a team of S&LP professionals providing security as a service to business customers across multiple business units within a dedicated geographical area. You perform regular physical security audits and investigate policy violations, security‑related incidents, and loss events. During your investigations, you will collect information by monitoring systems and tools, analyzing data reports, and conducting interviews.

Your findings contribute to identifying vulnerabilities in various processes to identify and drive mitigating measures. You play a key role in maintaining the physical integrity of our sites by auditing and monitoring the health status of our systems and, jointly with subject‑matter experts and external suppliers, maintain their functionality. You also identify and act upon initiatives improving our physical security infrastructure and contribute directly to the budgetary planning for our external suppliers.

You interact on a daily basis with our external security service providers to ensure the delivery of high‑quality security services and a smooth customer experience. You will be working on multiple Shannon‑Shannon projects by collaborating with stakeholders across organizational levels to deliver measurable outcomes through effective project management. Finally, you deliver loss‑prevention‑related education and awareness programs to other teams across all management levels and manage the implementation of our S&LP plan.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 4+ years of relevant professional or military experience
  • A minimum of 2+ years in security service OR loss prevention OR asset protection OR investigations OR law enforcement OR 2+ years of Amazon blue‑badge experience
