OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY
Opening for a full‑time Stores Supervisor, Merchandising for lululemon in The University Store. This position reports to the Deputy General Manager, Retail Stores and works directly with the clothing supervisor. The Stores Supervisor, Merchandising is responsible for both front‑end activities (assisting customers, operating a cash terminal, merchandising) and back‑end duties (product transfers, inventory).
ResponsibilitiesManages the lululemon showcase, including merchandising, ordering transfers, pricing, displaying, selling, and maintaining inventory. Communicates with vendors to obtain product knowledge and specifications to enhance sales and offers optimal customer service to guests. Works closely with the buying team to determine merchandise to carry or discontinue based on in‑store sales history and market trends. Researches customer preference and vendor terms. Recommends and initiates marketing, advertising and promotional activities.
Establishes and maintains effective customer relations. Determines stock requirements and prepares specifications for merchandise purchases, transfers merchandise as needed from the distribution center, ensures adequate quantities are ordered timely, monitors receiving of products and maintains inventory control to keep adequate stock levels. Operates a point‑of‑sale case register and processes cash and non‑cash transactions. Coordinates day‑to‑day operations, evaluates inventory movement and advises management on display adjustments.
Assists in receiving incoming merchandise transfers, verifies packing slips, ensures UPCs are properly linked in Net Suite, and items are priced correctly. Attends lululemon training sessions, assists in training staff and student employees on sales techniques and product specifications. Performs monthly cycle counts, reviews and researches negative inventory reports, makes necessary inventory adjustments, and confers with management on inventory issues.
Performs various routine clerical functions and merchandise inventories. Performs inventories as scheduled, takes counts, notes markdowns and disposes merchandise according to procedures. Performs other related duties incidental to the role.
- High school diploma, some college preferred or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- One to three years of retail sales and operational experience in a high‑end, high‑volume retail operation; proven successful retail track record. Prefer supervisory experience.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with close attention to detail and accuracy.
- Can work independently and as part of a diverse team in a fast‑paced setting.
- Quick learner with problem‑solving skills and ability to learn new technologies as needed.
