Statistician

Zoetis is currently looking for a Statistician to join our team in Durham, NC. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing statistical support to multiple discovery, development, and product defense in Veterinary Medicine Research and Development. This includes both development of vaccines and biodevices and outcomes research to evaluate competitive performance in the field. The candidate will identify and implement innovative approaches for design and analysis of clinical, laboratory trials, and DOE (design of experiments) studies.

They should review statistical literature in these areas for practical implementation in animal health R&D programs, participate on project teams, and serve as a liaison between Statistics and other departmental groups. The successful candidate will assist in training scientists and engineers in experimental design and related topics. Our department is highly collaborative, and colleagues are expected to actively participate in group meetings to ensure a common approach to handling clinical, laboratory, and DOE study data.

• MS in Biostatistics/Statistics or related field with at least 7 years of direct work experience in the pharmaceutical industry
• PhD in Biostatistics/Statistics preferably with 3 years experience

• Knowledge of data handling and statistical analysis programming in PC‑SAS
• Knowledge of experimental design, mixed linear and non‑linear model methodologies, survival analysis and categorical data analysis
• Knowledge of Design of Experiments methodology
• Knowledge of measurement systems analysis and assay validation methodologies
• Excellent oral and written communication and statistical consulting skills along with the ability to work effectively with both domestic and international colleagues remotely
• Ability to critically review scientific publications
• Highly organized, able to manage multiple simultaneous projects and significant attention to detail, including work submitted and reviewed by domestic and international regulatory authorities
• Works well in a team environment
• Core values of integrity and customer satisfaction

• Experience with clinical and laboratory trials for pharmaceutical and/or vaccine products and with engineering device research
