Description:

This position is devoted to the management of land, buildings and right-of-way including the acquisition and disposition of City property and facilities. Performs fully-proficient journey-level leasing, management, acquisition and disposal of real properties for the City requiring independent evaluation and analysis of issues and the exercise of judgment, education, and experience to select and apply criteria to resolve problems and make recommendations.

Decision-making includes selecting the method to address a problem or issue, subject to the constraints established by management objectives and direction.

Responsible for acquiring rights-of-way; reviewing project plans, maps, surveys and legal documents; verifying ownership; negotiating with property owners; evaluating property damage; estimating values for compensation purposes; preparing real estate transaction documents; disposing of surplus property; managing the City’s rental and leased properties (not City-owned) including reviewing lease terms and renewals; providing relocation assistance; inspecting properties; performing due diligence on behalf of the City;

ordering professional real estate services as needed; responding to resident requests; maintaining databases and records; and preparing reports, legal documents, and correspondence.

  • Acquires, leases, and disposes of City property in accordance with established policies and procedures; inspects properties; determines property values; assesses property damage when it occurs; verifies property ownership; negotiates with property owners and other interested parties; performs property management functions; and coordinates property sales by administering the bid process.
