The Triangle’s premier emergency and specialty hospital is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) in Anesthesia & Analogie to join our surgery team. We provide 24/7 emergency services and specialty referrals in surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, radiology, and rehabilitation. Job SummaryAs an Anesthesia Veterinary Technician, you will work alongside our board‑certified surgeons and anesthetists while collaborating with surgery, sterile processing, and rehab assistants. This role offers a high degree of autonomy, responsibility, and advanced patient care. Candidates must demonstrate:

You will be responsible for independent anesthesia case management, including patient assessment, anesthetic planning (stable and unstable patients), monitoring, and intervention for a wide range of procedures including CTs, emergency, orthopedic, soft tissue, and laparoscopic surgeries.
Essential Job Functions- Provide comprehensive anesthetic support from sedation through induction, surgery, extubation, and recovery.
- Perform advanced technical skills:
- Nasogastric tube placement, central/arterial line placement
- Intravenous catheterization, venipuncture, injections (Intravenous, Intramuscular, Subcutaneous)
- Epidural administration
- CPR and emergency interventions
- Monitor, assess, and intervene in cases of hypotension, arrhythmias, and other anesthetic complications.
- Maintain complete and accurate anesthetic patient records.
- Assist with surgical preparation, instrument sterilization, OR setup and breakdown as needed.
- Manage anesthesia‑related charges and client invoices accurately.
- Maintain anesthesia machines, monitoring equipment, and ensure compliance with OSHA and radiation safety standards.
- Support patient care and husbandry, including infectious disease protocols and proper biomedical waste handling.
- Assist with surgery department appointments, drop‑offs, and workflow support.
- Required:
Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology. - Required:
Current NC RVT license or eligibility for NC registration. - Preferred: VTS (Anesthesia & Analogie) or advanced anesthesia experience.
