Unit SummarySTC 3 is a 35-bed monitored hospital unit that cares for a unique population of patients ranging from young adults to geriatrics. Our diverse patient population includes complex urology patients, pulmonary hypertension patients, kidney and pancreas transplant patients, peritoneal dialysis patients, and radioactive implant cases. STC 3 is the only unit in the hospital that performs peritoneal dialysis. STC 3 is the only floor equipped with lead-lined rooms to care for patients receiving radioactive therapies in the inpatient setting.
WhatYou’ll Do
As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team, you will gain hands-on experience and specialized skills including:
- Peritoneal Dialysis management
- Epidural
- Continuous Bladder Irrigation
- Nephrostomy and Urostomy care
- Complex urinary catheter insertions and care
- Suprapubic catheter insertion and care
- Fistula access
You’ll also have the opportunity to train in ultrasound guided IV insertion, expanding your clinical expertise and contributing to exceptional patient outcomes.
Professional GrowthNurses on our unit are eligible to pursue up to five nationally recognized certifications, including:
- Certified Clinical Transplant Nurse (CCTN)
- Certified Peritoneal Dialysis Nurse (CPDN)
- Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN)
- Certified Urology Nurse (CURN)
- Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification (CMSRN)

- Graduate of RN School of Nursing
- ADN required; BSN preferred
- Active RN License
- Minimum of 6 Months of RN experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire or transfer.
- EDUCATION – Grad of an Accredited Program
- MAJOR – Nursing
- EXPERIENCE – 2 Years of Experience
- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION – Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
