Registered Nurse (CNII) – Duke Primary Care Sage Road Pediatrics
Triangle Family Practice is a fast‑paced clinic providing comprehensive care for patients of all ages, from infancy to geriatrics. With 15 providers and plans to expand, the clinic sees 200–280 patients daily. Services include family and internal medicine, pediatrics, preventative care, chronic illness management, women’s health, and diabetes education. A pharmacist is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, enhancing the clinic’s patient‑centered approach to healthcare.

As a Clinical Nurse, you will deliver advanced and specialized care to patients, following the standards set by the Nursing Clinical Ladder Program. You’ll also have opportunities to grow and contribute by joining educational sessions, serving on department committees, and participating in research or other health‑related projects. In every interaction, you’ll provide compassionate care to patients and their families, always practicing within the RN scope of practice defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Identify patient care needs at the unit level and help create standards of care, patient/family education, and staff training to meet those needs.
- Participate in educational sessions, department committees, research projects, and other health‑related activities as assigned.
- Provide direction on the proper use, care, and management of equipment and supplies.
- Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of equipment and materials and share feedback with the right team members.
- Watch for potential safety concerns in the care environment and take action to prevent issues.
- Support the growth of other team members through precepting, mentoring, coaching, and role modeling.
- Lead unit‑level projects focused on improving patient care quality, clinical outcomes, and staff development.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
Education
- Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN program.
- Exception:
Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014 and April 11, 2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within seven years of their start date. Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in this job classification.
- Applicants must meet all requirements set forth by the DUHS Nursing Career Ladder Program for level III.
- Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
- Knowledge of scope of the registered nurse, licensed practical nurse and Unlicensed staff.
- Knowledge of and appropriate application of the nursing process
- Knowledge of professional theory, practice and procedure
- Ability to assess nursing needs of acute and chronically ill patients and their families
