Connections Coordinator Kindred Church

Job Summary

We are looking for an outgoing and detail-oriented Connections Coordinator to join the staff of Kindred Church, a growing United Methodist community that is committed to sharing the inclusive love of Jesus. The Connections Coordinator will help newcomers connect with the Kindred community by ensuring an environment of warm hospitality on Sunday mornings, facilitating effective follow up communications, and leading our growing Volunteer Ministry.

The right candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for hospitality, along with an instinctive ability to organize, anticipate, communicate, and adapt. Consistent availability on Sunday mornings is a non-negotiable requirement. All roles in our church require a commitment to the pursuit and practice of anti-racist leadership and a commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion.

In many ways the “face” of Kindred Church to newcomers and the first point of contact for them with our staff, the Connections Coordinator ensures that Kindred is successfully connecting with new visitors and helping them find a meaningful place in the Kindred community. A major part of the role involves leading Kindred’s growing Volunteer Ministry (including the supervision of our set-up/clean-up processes for Sunday services), attending to the visitor experience on Sunday mornings, leading seasonal events, and handling a variety of administrative tasks to facilitate newcomers’ engagement at Kindred.

This position requires about 20 hours per week. A typical Sunday morning will require the Connection Coordinator to be on duty for about 6 hours. The remaining weekly hours are generally very flexible except for pre-scheduled weekly meetings with Kindred’s Pastor, other staff, and volunteers.
