H.E.A.R.T.S. (Helping Each Adolescent Reach Their Spark) is seeking a Resource Development Specialist to lead our fundraising, donor engagement, and grant writing. This role focuses on grant writing, donor engagement, fundraising campaigns, and partnership development to ensure long term sustainable growth and impact. Position Summary
The Resource Development Specialist will lead the organization’s fundraising strategy, cultivate donor relationships, and oversee campaigns that support our mission and growth. This role is ideal for a strategic, relationship-driven leader who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about community impact.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Development
· Research and identify funding opportunities including grants, sponsor ships, and donor prospects.
· Write and submit compelling grant proposals, reports, and donor communications.
· Develop and implement annual fundraising plans and campaigns.
· Maintain donor database and track contributions, acknowledgments, and engagement.
Partnership & Relationship Management
· Cultivate relationships with foundations, corporations, government, and individual donors.
· Represent the organization at community events, networking opportunities, and donor meetings.
· Collaborate with program staff and the board of directors to align funding needs with program goals.
Communications & Outreach
· Create development-related content for newsletters, social media, and annual reports.
· Support marketing efforts that enhance visibility and attract support.
· Assist in planning and executing fundraising events and donor appreciation activities.
Data & Reporting
· Monitor and evaluate fundraising performance metrics.
· Prepare regular reports for leadership and board on development activities and outcomes.
· Ensure compliance with grant and donor requirements.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or related field.
· 3+ years of experience in fundraising, grant writing, or resource development.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficiency in donor management systems (Aplos preferred) and Microsoft Office 365.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
· Passion for the organization’s mission and commitment to equity and community impact.
· Proven ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community partners

Compensation & Benefits
· Salary Range: $50,000–$60,000, equal with experience
· Benefits include health coverage, paid holidays, and vacation time

Sustainability Goals
· Annual Fundraising Goal: Meet or exceed annual revenue targets (e.g., $250,000+)
· Donor Retention Rate: Maintain or improve donor retention (target: 70%+ year-over-year)
· New Donor Acquisition: Secure a minimum of 25 new donors annually
· Major Gifts: Secure at least 5 major gifts ($5,000+) per year
· Grant Success Rate: Submit at least 12 grant applications annually with a 30%+ success rate
· Event ROI: Achieve fundraising event return on investment of 3:1 or higher
· Donor Engagement: Implement quarterly stewardship touchpoints for top 50 donors
· Database Accuracy: Maintain 98% accuracy in donor records…
