Role Summary
Technician - Visual Inspection Operations supporting the design, commissioning, qualification, and eventual operation of highly automated visual inspection equipment on syringes. Role includes potential for leadership progression and may require domestic and international travel.
Responsibilities- Provide commissioning, qualification, and operational readiness support during the project phase for inspection lines using semi-automated and automated technology.
- Support site operational readiness activities and develop into a subject matter expert for the inspection equipment/process.
- After project completion, safely operate highly automated equipment used to inspect syringes and ensure compliance with safety standards and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Assist in the development of operators and identify opportunities for operational improvement; perform inspections to identify defects.
- Document activities accurately and escalate issues to supervision; serve as a reliable point of contact for issue escalation on the shop floor.
- Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year relevant experience (education may be substituted for experience with manager discretion)
- Preferred
- 2+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical or equivalent regulated industry
- Scientific/technical degrees or certifications
- Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMPs)
- Previous experience with semi-automated and automated visual inspection equipment
- Previous experience with pre-filled syringe (PFS) technology
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems and electronic batch records
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Flexibility and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a highly regulated environment and adhere to safety procedures
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Role is based at Lilly Research Triangle Park; ability to travel during the project phase and less than 5% after startup
- Ability to wear required safety equipment and work 12-hour day shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Ability to pass annual job fitness and vision tests; may require 12-hour shifts and travel
