Overview
Industrial Maintenance Technician role at The Steel Network, Inc.
- TSN in Durham, NC. The Technician performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production and process equipment in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on safety and teamwork.
- Provide preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on production equipment, systems, and building in a manufacturing environment.
- Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Fix machine breakdowns promptly to minimize equipment downtime.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems (motors, solenoids, etc.).
- Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems (air cylinders, electro-pneumatic solenoids, etc.).
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulics (cylinders, motors, solenoids, etc.).
- Assist in installing, inspecting new equipment, and servicing installations.
- Provide support to co-workers, contractors, vendors, project managers, building managers, and engineers to support project and renovation work.
- Operate various measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments.
- Safely perform duties by following safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout procedures, and wearing PPE as required.
- Engage in light construction tasks including framing, painting, plumbing, and miscellaneous repair duties as needed.
- Experience in an industrial environment or related field.
- Comfort with manufacturing processes.
- Resourceful problem solver with a hands-on approach and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle physical workload and multi-task, work independently, and within a team.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
- Experience using tools, laptops, and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Interpersonal skills.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Intermediate electrical maintenance knowledge.
